Join us for an intensive 3-day ceramics experience, where you’ll hand-build your own expressive basket under the guidance of guest artist Heesoo Lee! Day One: Spend the first day hand-building your own expressive basket as you bring your ideas to life in clay. Once complete, we’ll bisque fire your pieces in preparation for the next stages. Day Two: While your bisqued pieces are cooling, we’ll dive deeper into expressive basket-making. Heesoo will provide hands-on demonstrations showcasing various techniques for layering, texturing, and decorating surfaces, offering inspiration to add unique character and depth to your pieces while deepening your skills and creativity. Day Three: By day three, your pieces will be ready for underglaze application. Beyond vibrant color, Heesoo will demonstrate a range of advanced underglaze painting techniques, including blending, sgraffito, and fine detailing, allowing participants to truly bring their work to life with rich, sophisticated finishes. All materials and tools are included, so you can focus entirely on creating.
