Variations in Red Pitcher

Price

$132.00

After applying the wax resist, I dip the pitcher into a second glaze. Without the wax, the glaze would fall in unremarkable drips. But with the resist, the glaze responds,  breaking, pooling, and shifting along those wax lines.

While the glaze is still wet, I slowly roll the piece, letting gravity pull the surface into motion. The result is a record of movement, where direction meets chance.

A white glaze rests beneath a layered red, interrupted by brushed wax that creates moments of exposure and tension across the surface. The occasional speck comes from iron flakes within the clay, small reminders of the material’s raw origin.

Ceramics lives somewhere between control and surrender.
You guide the process… but the fire always gets a vote.
